Wine has always been, and still is, one of the “Oeste” richness. This territory is one of the most important wine-growing areas in Portugal.
The vine-growing and wine production marks its several centuries presence in almost every municipal districts of the region and for that reason, this sector must be taken in consideration as an “Oeste” typical element of Identification.
(…) The vineyards cover hundreds of slopes full of luminosity and an intense sun. The slowly grapes matureness, result of a conjunction of intensive work of the sun, the earth and of man’s hand, it’s a divine action of daily life. In autumns’ beginnings when the vine-leaf wins a brown and yellow colour, the vintage work began and the wine-cellars open with an extraordinary labour to people.
It’s time for the “Oeste” to win the delicious must aroma, that spreads magic between villages and festivities take place. Wine celebrates life.
