Caldas da Rainha “The Queens SPA”, established in 1485, is one of the oldest spa towns in Europe.  The old town contains many historic and architecturally fine buildings, a large and beautiful park and a daily fruit and vegetable market selling fresh produce from the surrounding area as well as a daily fresh fish market. Caldas da Rainha has a great variety of shops and specializes in ceramic ware. There are a number of beaches in the area - the closest which is “Foz do Arelho” is only 5 minutes away.
